Norbain has brought in custom-built IT peripherals specialist Electrone Europe to provide an important solution for key partner, Bosch Security Systems.
The Electrone System200 Joystick has been specially designed to emulate a mouse and works exclusively alongside the Bosch DiBos family of Digital Video Recorders. This USB-based model enables CCTV systems that use a mouse to implement a legacy joystick controller, thus enabling greater control and removing the need for total operator re-training.
Stuart Thorn, chief executive of Electrone Europe, comments: "There has simply been no way of attaching a joystick to the Bosch systems until now. Electrone is enabling camera operators to buy legacy products to work with their existing systems, yet allow operators to use the device they are most familiar with. This removes the need to re-train operators on new systems."
The System200 range also includes units with up to 30 programmable keys and either USB or IP network connectivity and 8 re-legendable buttons around the joystick base as an option. The Electrone Sytem200 Jog Shuttle enables operators to move between frames with a high level of precision within video editing environments. Its two-line LCD display allows bi-directional communication and specific commands to be issued directly to the operator without interrupting what is displayed on any monitor. Complex user tasks, such as queued shots during editing and live to air action information, can be displayed using the built-in display.
"Norbain is continually looking for ways to support its suppliers and to meet ever-developing customer demands," says Buzz Coates, Norbain’s branded CCTV manager. "With our experience and reach in the industry, we are able to bring in solution providers such as Electrone that allow us to offer a solution that benefits all the parties involved."
